Wish Summer Camp would never end? Welcome to Create-A-Play Classes! In these classes you will build skills in acting, singing, and dancing. Students will then take what they learn and apply it to a show they create themselves.
Great for both beginners wanting to learn what goes into theatre and experienced performers looking to hone their craft. The class will culminate with a performance of their original musical on the Playhouse Stage March 1 at 3 PM!
Acting for Camera

Instructor: JP Driscoll
This on-camera acting course explores professional film and television techniques for auditions, self-tapes, and on-set performance. Students will learn how to break down scenes, prepare effectively for a shoot, and make strong choices that translate truthfully through the lens. Instructor John-Patrick Driscoll appears November 12th on Chicago P.D., with additional credits including The Blacklist, Law & Order: SVU, SWAT, InHumans, and numerous regional theatre productions. JP holds an MFA from the University of South Carolina, is a member of SAG/AFTRA, and his film credits and reel can be found on IMDB.

College Prep: Monologue and Audition Technique
with JP Driscoll
Ages: 15 - 19
Highschoolers and Recent Grads| Saturdays 9:30 - 11 | Jan 10 - Feb 28 | $125
Instructor: JP Driscoll and a music workshop led by Devon Yates
This college preparation course focuses on developing and refining audition material for university theatre programs, including classical and contemporary monologues, Shakespeare, and musical selections. Students will strengthen their voice, movement, and acting technique while building confidence for both in-person and recorded auditions. The class emphasizes individualized coaching to help each performer present their most authentic and compelling work. JP holds an MFA from the University of South Carolina and has been a working professional in showbiz for over 20 years. Students are encouraged to memorize monologues ahead of time.
